Whispering Grasses

Whispering Grasses evokes the quiet strength and resilience of nature. Crafted from foraged vine and salvaged metal wire, the sculpture mimics native grasses swaying in the breeze — fluid forms shaped by wind, time, and environment. The natural and salvaged materials intertwine, reflecting a delicate balance between the organic and industrial. This work speaks to regeneration, impermanence, and the unseen forces that shape growth. It invites stillness and attention, encouraging the viewer to listen to nature’s subtle voice — a whisper of movement, memory, and connection.

This woven sculpture is best hung vertically. Composed using foraged Five Leaf Water vine which is an invasive weed. The intricate and complex weaving of copper wire references the ancient basketry technique of looping. The pigment is handmade using charcoal dust.
