I’m thrilled to the first artist to be selected for the Capella Sydney inaugural Artist in Residence series. At this stunning hotel on Bridge Street in Sydney, I’ll be unveiling an evolving installation that explores the connection between the hotel’s architecture and the natural world.
During the Capella Hotel Artist-in-Residence program, I’ll be creating a single, site-responsive artwork titled Woven Resonance. This sculptural piece will draw directly from the local environment—its textures, forms, and rhythms—and echo Capella’s deep commitment to refined heritage, environmental mindfulness, and immersive experience.
Guests are invited to participate in a signature Capella Moment, Weaving the Wild, a hands-on workshop designed to inspire reflection and creative exploration.
For generations, the Department of Education building stood quietly, its golden sandstone facade forming an unassuming backdrop to the rhythm of the city. Reawakening as Capella Sydney, the heritage-listed icon welcomes guests inside for the very first time, setting a global benchmark for luxury accommodation, cuisine and cultural immersion. Balancing storied architectural features with a contemporary design aesthetic, Capella Sydney celebrates the Australian panorama through its interiors, location and experiences.
